Boxing sensation Rofhiwa Nemushungwa thrilled fans this past Youth Day as he secured a hard-fought split-decision victory over Asiphe Ntshili during Colosseum of Combat III at Victory Theatre. The bout had the audience on the edge of their seats, with Ntshili displaying relentless energy and determination in the ring. Despite a fierce challenge, Nemushungwa edged out his opponent thanks to the judges’ scoring.
This victory marks Nemushungwa’s second triumph of the year, following a spectacular fourth-round knockout against Mxolisi Sibiya in April at Malamulele Boxing Gym. In that fight, Nemushungwa landed a decisive right-hand punch to the jaw, cementing his reputation as a knockout artist.
In a post-fight interview, Nemushungwa admitted that his initial plan was to knock out Ntshili, but he acknowledged the challenge presented by his opponent. He also shared his frustration with past judging decisions, particularly the controversial 2022 national title bout against the late Ronald Malindi, where he felt unfairly denied victory.
“The judges made a different decision, but I won that fight fairly in the ring. I was so upset that I didn’t fight last year. This is my second rebound fight. Every boxer I face now will pay for what the judges did to me,” Nemushungwa said.
