Born on July 20, 1987, in the vibrant township of KwaMashu near Durban, Ricky Rick grew up immersed in music. His family’s love for rhythm and melody sparked a lifelong passion, while icons like Tupac Shakur and Jay-Z inspired his early fascination with hip hop.
As a teenager, Ricky’s talent and ambition led him to Johannesburg, where he joined the local hip hop group The D.U.. But it wasn’t until 2014 that the nation truly took notice.
